Bass-baritone Lorenzo Barbieri, after studying at the Real Accademia Filarmonica in Bologna with Sergio Bertocchi and Paola Molinari, he graduate cum laude at Modena’s I.S.S.M. Vecchi-Tonelli.
Mr. Barbieri is also graduated cum laude in Musicology at Pavia’s University.
The first important debut was in the role of Uberto in "La Serva Padrona" at LaVerdi Auditorium in Milano and was selected by Ópera de Tenerife for the title role in "Le nozze di Figaro", making himself appreciated on the international scene.
He sang at the Teatro Comunale in Bologna, Regio in Parma, Coccia in Novara, Donizetti Opera in Bergamo, Municipale in Piacenza and Innsbrucker Festwochen.
He collaborated with important conductors such as M. Mariotti, E. Pidò, J. Bignamini, M. Beltrami, A. De Marchi, and stage directors such as S. Paoli, R. Cucchi, J. Spirei, and A. Pizzech.
His repertory includes Baroque roles, Mozart-Da Ponte roles, and many roles in the operas of Rossini.
