Patrizio La Placa

bass-baritone

Patrizio La Placa was born in Rome, Italy.

He began his music and vocal studies in 2001, when he became «puer cantor» of the Pontifical Musical Chapel "Sistina", where he remained until 2006, under the direction of Maestro Giuseppe Liberto. From 2007 to 2010, he took part in the Cantoria of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, under the direction of Maestro J.M. Sciutto, covering the role of soloist in the concert activity.

 

As a soloist, he participated in the performance of "Il Barbiere di Siviglia" by G. Paisiello at the Reate Festival, directed by F. Biondi and at the Teatro Italia in Rome he performed in the show "Carmen-Mon Amour» under the direction of  S. Oliva.

In 2018, he became a student of the Academy of Belcanto "Rodolfo Celletti" in Martina Franca, where he participates in lectures and master classes of international interpreters.

In the 2018 Valle d'Itria Festival, he played the role of Captain Rodimarte, in the opera buffa by A. Scarlatti «Il Trionfo dell’onore». In September 2018, at the Teatro Olimpico of Vicenza, he played the role of Darete, in the first world performance in modern times of the opera "Polidoro" by A.Lotti.

From November 2018 to June 2019 he was a student of the High specialization course for opera singers of the Academy of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Florence.

In the 2019 Valle d'Itria Festival, he played the role of Frangipani in the first Italian version of Offenbach's opera "Coscoletto", under the direction of  S. Quatrini and directed by A. Cirillo.

In November 2019, at the Teatro del Giglio SHOWA in Kanagawa, he re-played the role of Captain Rodimarte, under the direction of Maestro A. Greco, for the Belcanto Opera Festival in Japan.
